2007 Martin Jones triumphed in the breezy conditions
Martin Jones triumphed in the breezy conditions at Fotheringhay over the weekend to win the Fenland Clarion Cycling Club 2007 Hardriders event.
Jones scorched round the 14 mile course in 35 mins dead to beat the competition by 42 clear seconds.
Paul Asplin took the vets honours as well as fourth place overall with 37:27, Lindsay Clark was the fastest woman with 40:35 and placed 13th overall. Ralph Stevens was the first vet based on his standard with Keith Kinsey winning the handicap prize.
The route took the riders out of the scenic village before heading over to Nassington, Yarwell and Wansford. The course then bore left towards Kings Cliffe before completing the loop via Apethorpe and Wood Newton.
