Membership of the Fenland Clarion puts you right at the heart of the local cycling community and makes you a part of the largest and friendliest cycling club in the area. Our members benefit from being able to take part in organised social events, leisure rides and club runs, time trial, grass track and road racing, junior coaching and more. The club is more than racing and club runs, its a social network where people get to meet other like minded individuals. In addition to the organised events, many riders use the Club as a hub to organise their own leisure or training rides with groups of friends and club mates. With 200 members, of which 50 are youth riders, there is likely to be someone of similar age and ability to you.
Please note that new members joining after 1st September will gain membership through until the end of the following year. Thereafter membership runs from January to the end of December and you can renew from the beginning of December (i.e. one month before membership expires).
All of this costs just £18 per year with concessions for juniors (£10) and over 60s (£14).To join, please membership forms(s), if you are new member then a Fenland Clarion and a National Clarion form are required and return them to our Secretary at the address given or, better still, bring them along to one of our events. We look forward to welcoming you in.
3rd Party Public Liability Insurance
This is covered in your Fenland Clarion membership fee (no extra charge)
Policy details can be found here: https://clarioncc.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Clarion-Cover-Policy-Information.pdf
Note: In 2017 the National Clarion offered an optional 3rd party insurance product to members at a cost of £12 per member. Following the annual conference in 2017, the committee have committed to purchasing a 3rd party insurance policy for 2018, which will cover all members (joining prior to conference 2018) within the current membership fee (i.e. free for 2018 if joining before conference). However, because of the cost of the insurance premium, the National funds cannot cover this for subsequent years without running into a deficit. Therefore the motion to conference will be to increase the subscriptions of all membership categories by a much smaller amount than the £12 (TBA), but this will only be viable if it is applied across the board to all members. It will however, bring peace of mind to all members and officials, who would then know that all Clarion members would have 3rd party public liability insurance whilst cycling, thus protecting them against a claim for damages in the event of being liable in an accident.
