Massive thanks to the timekeepers and marshalls for putting the event on.
Friday 17th May
Hi to all
This Friday we will be using the track so if you have a choice then road bikes/tyres would be preferred. Please aim to be there ready to start at 6:30 and a little earlier If you'd like to borrow a bike.
As quite a few of you will be racing at Lincoln either on Saturday or on June 8th we will also be doing gear checks so you know what you need to do, if anything, to comply with the rules.
Please note for this Saturdays races the youth C, D & E riders (under 8, 10 & 12's) will get a time trial as well as a 15 minute race with entries still being taken on the day.
Hope to see you all there, and any questions please just ask.
Club camping trip
Hi to all
Hopefully most of you already have the dates of Friday 14th - Sunday 16th June in your diaries for our fourth cycle camping trip.
This year we are returning to our first venue at Ferry Meadows/Nene Park with one main change as we've extended it to two nights to give us a little more time there. Please note this is adjacent to the sailing centre and we get the site to ourselves with access to the amenities block, it is not the caravan site, although I wouldn't rule out a visit one evening for the fish & chips.
Anyway this year it will be £15 per family group for one night, or £25 for both the Friday and Saturday nights.
Both Emma and myself will be riding over and i'd be very happy to join any others who'd like to do the same. We can access the site from 1:00 on Friday and can stay until 10:00 on Sunday.
The intention will be to go for a couple of rides while we are there, optional of course, and that should also leave enough free time for a few non cycling activities.
So if you are going please let me know and we'll be taking names & money on Fridays.
Any questions please ask, and there is an event created for this on the groups Facebook page for any discussions you may want to share.

Club Presentation Evening - HELP NEEDED
WANTED - Individual or group of people to organise the 2019 Club Prize Presentation Event (Oct/Nov 2019)
There is no fixed format except that prizes & trophies must be presented. A guest speaker is not essential but if you’d like one they don’t have to talk about cycling! The format & venue will be down to you & this could be a Sunday lunch to coincide with end of a group ride, BBQ, hog roast & country dancing, formal dinner where you can dress to impress, buffet, disco, carvery, etc. Whatever you can organise & is likely to appeal to most of the membership, young & old! The Club Committee will give you guidance & advise as to what has & hasn’t worked in the past.
IF YOU CAN HELP OUT OR WOULD LIKE TO ORGANISE please contact Alison This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 07856 718884 or one of the committee members.
Thank you!
Mashalling - an update from the racing secretary
As part of your membership to the Fenland Clarion, racing members are required, from time to time, to help with marshalling and other officiating duties. Here are the CTT (Cycling Time Trials) Guidance Notes (No. 11) appertaining to the duties of a Marshal (or checker)
Please read and familiarise yourself with what the role entails and how you should go about being a Marshal.
You can get to the file by clicking here, or from the Marshalling page of the racing menu above.

Bluebell week 4
Brrrrr.... It was a cold and damp evening as the riders gathered at the bottom of the climb to Ufford for the second attempt at the out and back course to Marholm.
Despite the conditions, there were a number of good times and well done to all who braved the weather to ride.
...anyone remember the warm summer of last year?? !!
