Message from Malc Jacklin...
Firstly i'd just like to thank all of you who have supported this series, whether it be by racing, spectating or helping with the various roles, as we couldn't do any of these events without all of your help.
It was a pretty cold night to finish the series, and full credit for so many of you for turning out at such a busy time of the year.
If you'd like some more Go Ride Racing events the second round of the Muddy Monsters North Cambs series will be on 6th January at HInchingbrooke School, while Fenland Clarion will host their round on 24th February and this will once again be held at the Embankment Athletic Track, and although the format will be similar we will be there on a Saturday morning this time.
Hope to see you all again soon
The under 8’s was a fiercely contested age group and there was race wins for series winner Monty Wood and Mathilda Simpson who came equal second in the series with Benjamin Robinson, with the Blake sisters Katie & Anna sharing fourth place. For the under 10’s there was two more victories for Evander Wishart who also won the series, with the rapidly improving Louis Taylor claiming two second places on the night, while Fearne Starr and Will Wood tied in second place for the series. Jacob Wood came within one place of completing a clean sweep in the under 12’s with Oliver Stegeman spoiling his unbeaten run in the final event to secure his second place in the series. Devonne Piccaver won the under 14’s unchallenged, while Thomas Stegeman edged out his clubmate Sam Jarrett in the under 16’s

Hi to all
This Friday 8th December we will be holding another of our racenights, this time with a cyclocross format, so we will be on the grass and every rider will get three races (two to score). These will still suit ALL of our youth riders, but with the added attraction of some riders from other clubs joining us for a few races, making it ideal entry level racing, and suitable for getting started with competitive events. Each event will be in age groups, so even our youngest will be able to take part, and the oldest will riders will be under 16 age group (racing seperately to the younger ones)
Entry will be £4 on the day from 6.00pm with races to start at 6.30 and finish around 8.00. when we will award the prizes for the series, with a few spot prizes as well. Hopefully our youngsters will all want to try these events, they seem to have a competitve streak even when not racing, so it should make a nice change to our usual format.
We could do with a few helpers on the night, so if you are able to help please let me know, preferably in advance to assist with planning the evening
Riders, the more the merrier for good racing. All youth riders welcome.
Cakes, if you can bring one along please do, and ideally let me know beforehand
Refreshments - two to help out with them
Signing on - two people required
Timekeepers - three people required
Demo rider to show the riders round the course
Helpers for setting up, could do with a couple of helpers who could ideally get there early
The details are on the British Cycling website, although as its entry on the night things are not too different to normal.
This will be at our usual venue The Embankment Athletic Track, Bishops Road, PE1 5BW.
This will be the third & final event in our Autumn series
As always any questions please ask.

2017 has been another fast year and riders across the board have been seen to produce some impressive times, not least of all Club Champion Paul Lunn.
Paul has been sizzling form all year, winning almost all of the club events and set new club records for the Bluebell Circuit (20.45) and also the 100 mile with 3.40.11, beating the old record by almost a quarter of an hour.
Meanwhile Paul Lilley, Steve Kaye and Richard Moys eclipsed the nine year old Men’s 25 mile team record by 7.14 on the same day in September.
Not to be outdone Lindsay Clarke broke the Women’s 10 mile record twice in 2017, beating her own 23 year old record with 22.02 and then 21.59 (same day in September, it must have been a fast day!) on the super quick V718 course in Yorkshire.
