Bluebell 10 results from 10th July
It was a quieter night at the 10 last week with only 15 riders taking the start as we reverted back to the Bainton/Bretton/Ufford course.
With a slightly downhill out leg with the wind behind, it was hard work getting back from the turn.
Steve Kaye flew round in 23:36 which was enough to give him a winning cushion over Sam Jarrett. Lynden Leadbeater rounded out the top three.
This week, despite fears over the road dresssing, sees more of the same.
Message from Racing Secretary - re remaining Club 10s
BLUEBELL 10 COURSE - ROADWORKS
I've been corresponding with Martin Brooker who looks after works on Peterborough Highways and he assures me that there are no plans for any further road works/surface dressing and both the Bainton-Bretton and Bluebell Circuit courses will be unaffected between now and the end of the season. So you can all hold your breath!
Cheers
Steve

Derby update
If there is sufficient interest we can book the track again at Derby. There are two possible dates, and I need to know the level of interest for each of them. If there is sufficient interest then I'll confirm the bookings early next week.
Also as the August date is immediately after the bank holiday weekend, is there any interest in having the bank holiday weekend in Derbyshire either camping or in a youth hostel, and then finish the weekend with a visit to the track?
Tuesday 27th August 15:00 - 17:30
Monday 21st OR Tuesday 22nd October 13:00 - 16:00 (should be half term, please check)
Price: Children £25, adults £30 plus bike/shoe hire for adults. Note i'm awaiting confirmation of bike/shoe hire cost.
We need 25 riders to confirm the bookings.
Friday action at the track
This Friday we will once again be at the Athletics Track on Bishops Road for another coached session. This week we are heading back onto the grass, including grasstrack as there are plenty of these events to choose from in the next few weeks (plenty on the club website http://www.fenlandclarion.co.uk/site/index.php/youth/youth-latest-news). We will be using both fixed and free wheel bikes, so an ideal opportunity to try a fixed wheeled bike if you haven't done so already.
Also the fifth and final round of the Lincolnshire Circuit races on Saturday. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/204472/Lincolnshire-Circuit-Racing-League-Round-5
We also have three youth riders taking part in the National youth time trial qualifier over near Sawtry on Saturday afternoon, so good luck to them.
Remember we are hosting another racenight next Friday 12th and it is suitable for ALL of our youth riders.
Fenland Clarion are Hereward League Champions 2019
It was a fabulous evening to be a Clarionista as the Fenland team came home with the Hereward League shield. Trailing by a single point going into the final event at Bourne the team was able to turn that around and win.
Steve Clarke told us...
It was a good night for the Clarion. We won the Hereward League. One point behind going into the final round tonight and we smashed it. Great rides all round, everyone scored points that helped us beat tonight’s hosts Bourne Wheelers, into second spot in the team series.
Our Ladies and Veterans were fantastic, with Melanie Evans winning the Women’s series, with Lindsay Clarke and Tonya Smith 2nd and 3rd. In the Vets, Simon Pitchford was the winner, with Phil Merritt and Chris Shaw 2nd and 3rd equal with Phil Jones (who’s First Claim Peterborough CC)
Some good rides by our members, check out the results here.
Last weeks Bluebell result
No Bluebell tonight ! a reminder
Tonight is the final round of the Hereward league at Bourne so there will be no 10 at Helpston.
Details of the Bourne event are on the clubs Facebook page so head over there for details.
Normal service is resumed next week, but we will be at Bainton for July events.
