This year’s annual club dinner and prize presentation will be held on Saturday 29 November at The Farmers in Yaxley and this year’s Guest of Honour will be former Land’s End to John o’Groats (LEJOG) Women’s and current Mixed Tandem record holder Lynne Biddulph (née Taylor).

In 2000, she (as Lynne Taylor) and Andy Wilkinson rode a tandem bicycle from Land's End to John o' Groats (LEJOG) in 2 days, 3 hours, 19 minutes and 23 seconds, which is still the record time for a mixed tandem.

Lynne broke the LEJOG record for a female solo cyclist in 2000 also and again in 2002 with a time of 2 days, 4 hours, 45 minutes, 11 seconds, the latter record being unbroken for 19 years until Christina Mackenzie completed it in July 2021 in 2 days, 3 hours, 5 minutes and 27 seconds.  When Lynne broke the record in 2002, she continued and also broke the female record for the fastest 1,000 miles (1,600 km) with a time of 2 days, 16 hours, 38 mins, which she still holds to this day.

In 2021, she was awarded a prestigious "Special" Bidlake Award, the citation reading: "For remarkably setting RRA 'Land's End to John o'Groats' solo records during both 2001 and 2002 and continuing on in 2002 to also take the 1,000 mile record".

Like many of us her background is in time trialling and in particular long distance events and her personal best for 24 hours is 459 miles! Lynne now concentrates her efforts on the Team Pursuit in Masters competitions and is three times World Masters Champion along with our very own Lindsay Clarke.

Tickets are priced at £25 per person and will be the usual carvery style meal with a main course, dessert and tea/coffee.  The Farmers can also provide a vegetarian option if needed.  Places are limited so book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The evening will also include the annual awards ceremony (there will be a separate note out from Steve Clarke on this) and a raffle for which any donations would be gratefully received.
