Junior racing 8th November
This Friday 8th November we will be holding another of our racenights, this time its with a Cyclocross format, so we will be on the grass and every rider will get at least two races. These will still suit ALL of our youth riders, but with the added attraction of some riders from other clubs joining us for a few races, making it ideal entry level racing, and suitable for getting started with competitive events. Each event will be in age groups, so even our youngest will be able to take part, and the oldest will riders will be under 16 age group (racing seperately to the younger ones)
Please note that if any of you would like to borrow a club bike, please help us by being there by 6.15
Entry will be £4 on the day from 6.00pm with races to start at 6.30 and finish around 8:00 - 8:15 with the series prizes awarded at the end and all done by 8:30. Hopefully our youngsters will all want to try these events, they seem to have a competitve streak even when not racing, so it should make a nice change to our usual format.
We could do with a few helpers on the night, so if you are able to help please let me know, preferably in advance. In particular we need someone to take entries, ideally would could be there for 5:45/6:00
Riders, the more the merrier for good racing. All youth riders welcome.
Cakes, always very welcome
Refreshments - ideally 2 - 3 to help out with them
Signing on - two people required
Timekeepers - three people required
Demo rider to lead the riders round the course
Helpers for setting up, could do with a couple of helpers who could ideally get there early
The details are on the British Cycling website, but as its entry on the night things are not too different to normal.

This Friday we will be at the Embankment Athletic Track from 6:30 - 7:30 for our youth coached session.
This week we will be having another roller session, so if you have rollers please bring them along, or you can borrow a club set, although it might be worth letting me know to ensure we have enough for everyone.
For those who would prefer to be outdoors on their bikes we will be on the grass this week.
Also for the remaining sessions of this year we will make the clubs Wattbikes available for any of the adults who would like to try them, although these will need to be reserved in advance, so please let me know if interested.

2018 Hill Climb times
It was a bracing morning as the riders gathered at the foot of the first of two hill climbs taken on in this years competition.
The event is promoted in accordance with Peterborough Cycling Club and attracted a good crowd of supporters on both hills. They were certainly looking for suffering riders on the first climb from Ketton to Collyweston, gathering on the left hand bend where the gradient pitches up to over 15%.
Thankfully the sun was out despite the cold and the heavy rain of the previous afternoon had abaited.
The times were really competitive and it ended up as a closely fought competition.
Massive contratulations to all the riders and thanks to those who made the event possible.

Great Eastern Run 2018
It's that time of year again when the club has been asked to support the wheelchair athletes doing the half marathon. Event day is Sunday 14th Oct. If you would like to support this event please email me. So far there is only 2 athletes registered. We will need 2 riders supporting the lead chair and 1 for each subsequent entry.
Please note the number of wheelchair athletes, and consequently the number of cycling escorts required, will be confirmed prior to the day. So you won't have a wasted trip.
