FCCC brings back an old tradition - 27th November 1945
I am now old enough to be classed as a master in cycling terms (I think that still pre-dates veteran status!), and I remember starting out in the sport back in the early 90's where cycling clubs would meet up every week for a social chat and some time with friends.
Lots is made nowadays about how we don't make time to just have a drink and catch up so along with a desire to keep clubmates in contact across the off season, we are bringing back our club night starting next week.
The start time is 1945 in the Bluebell Pub in Maxey.
There is no formal agenda or topics for discussion and its just a chance to get together and have a chat. I will be looking to drop in with the clubs kits stock should anyone want to try and buy.
We hope to see as many members there that can make it and look forward to making the event grow.
The idea is to hold a social the last Wednesday of each month but we will bring that forward in December as the last one is Christmas Day! (The 18th is provisionally in the diary). We will be meeting up with those on the three halves ride and in the coming moves rotate the venue so it will hopefully come near you.

2020 Easter meet launched
The 125th National Clarion Easter meet will be held between 10th and 13th April 2020 in the historic venue of Warwick. Keep your diaries free... more details to follow.
Club Equipment
Recently there has been a number of occasions where bikes have been taken out of the container, only to be found to be in an unsuitable condition to ride. Please let us know if there's a problem with a bike, before it goes back in the container. It will be your youngsters that are disappointed if there isn't a suitable bike when they want one.
So please help us to look after them, firstly by treating them with care, and if there is a problem, make sure you let us know.
Many thanks

Navigation Rally this Sunday
Club Run - Sunday 10th November
9:00 am: Navigation Rally - 25 miles approximately - Blue Bell Pub, Maxey (no other club runs that day).
Meet at the Blue Bell Pub in Maxey and follow the clues with a bit of map reading. It's like a car treasure hunt but on a bicycle. Just bring a pencil to write the answers to the clues and the Start and Finish will be at the Blue Bell pub in Maxey. There is no coffee stop but you will be able to enjoy a drink at the end when we do the scoring in the pub.
Contact Birgit Scott 07974248737 or Ian Waddilove 07771674786 if you have any questions.
We hope you can join us on Sunday.
Core Strength Sessions planned...
After a successful trial session last winter the club has arranged for personal trainer Yvonne Goodsall to come along and offer some core training to compliment riders cycling training. These will be separate sessions for youths and adults from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the Embankment Athletic Track, with free parking in the adjoining Regional Pool car park. Full changing facilities and basic refreshments are included if required. Booking is not essential, but it would be handy to have an idea of numbers in advance if possible for the adult sessions.
Youth sessions will be split, so each group will get 30 minutes cycling and 30 minutes core exercises, no booking required and normal fees apply, on the following dates.
Fridays 15th November, 17th January & 6th March
Adult sessions will be £2 each and take place on Fridays 6th December &
21st February.
