Volunteers needed
Volunteer riders wanted to help youth section
We would like to have a few senior riders to boost the numbers for some race simulation practice on Friday evenings at the Embankment Athletics Track. We meet on the first and third Friday each month from
6:30 - 7:30 and if we can get a few volunteers we would like to trial a session, and if successful perhaps do these on an occasional basis.
Riders will need to be comfortable riding in close proximity to others in a group from around 12 - 17mph and be good role models for our young riders. The sessions will include riding through and off and practicing
riding to a set plan to enable the youths to practice specific race scenarios.
If you might be interested please let me know and we can work out the most convenient date.
Can you marshall the road race next weekend ? 14th March
The club is looking for some marshalls to help with our round of the NCRA handicaps.
It is next Saturday at Southwick near Oundle. Please let Steve Clarke know your availability.
We'd also like to wish the clubs riders in the event good luck.
Can you West Lothian?
Message from the West Lothian Cycle Circuit:
As you will hopefully know, we are running our £30K #Letsbuildit crowdfunder for the West Lothian Cycle. We are in the last few days of the crowdfunder and we have reached an amazing total of £17,100. However, if we don’t raise the full £30K we can’t collect any of the donations. It would be devasting to have come so far and not be able to collect all the generous pledges raised by nearly 260 supporters of the project. So we are asking for your help!
If you haven't already donated we would really appreciate your support. You can make a donation at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/
These sit alongside our signature print, mug and magnet rewards with exclusive design from world renowned artist Garry Marshall. There are also many rewards
We have also added a new gold level reward for a £1,185 donation. If you sponsor a floodlight you will receive free lifetime use of the circuit, a VIP invite to the opening and an art package! A floodlight will be named after you with your name and message appearing on a plaque on the lamp post.
If you have already donated, thank you! We would be so grateful for any further support you can provide by:
• Liking our Facebook page and share posts so we can reach more people.
• Share details of the crowdfunder http://www.
• Spread the word with your friends and family far and wide – there are still some fantastic rewards to be had
Our three core values for the circuit are:
• Helping people of all ages and abilities improve their physical and mental health.
• A safe environment to increase cycling confidence.
• Creating a more sustainable, healthier, happier and better connected community.
You can find out more about the plans at https://
Watch out for us on STV news this week as we filmed a segment for their evening show all about the West Lothian Cycle Circuit and how it will benefit the whole community, creating a cycling hub in West Lothian.

Friday 6th March
This Friday 6th March we will be at the Embankment Athletic Track from 6:30 - 7:30 and riding on the track with the emphasis on cornering.
It will also be the last of the core conditioning sessions with Yvonne. This week is planned for the youths, but there's no reason why adults can't join in, so if any parents are interested it's your last chance.
Hallam is Champion
David Hallam won the senior club cyclo cross championship last weekend.
Despite the stormy weather Hallam took the win narrowly ahead of Steve Hope.
Ken "Spider" Clarke
Everyone associated with the club and cycling locally were saddened to learn that "Spider" has passed away over the weekend.
This is a sad time for everyone in Fenland Clarion and the National Clarion with Ken being a popular club mate over many decades.
Our thoughts are With Ian, Steve and the family at this time.

Another week, another storm... This time Dennis is forecasted to be bad enough to make us postpone the weekly club runs on account of rider safety.
Apologies again, but this always has to be our priority.
